On September 27, 2012, Burma’s pro-democracy leader and Nobel Peace Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi visited Yale to deliver a public address. Speaking to 700 attendees at the sold-out event in Sprague Auditorium, she addressed the importance of rule of law in establishing democracy in Burma. In addition to the address, Suu Kyi attended a private dinner in Timothy Dwight College as part of the Chubb Fellowship on Wednesday night, sharing her experiences with TD undergraduates as well as representatives from various cultural, political and service groups in Yale.
